These are the official rules that govern how the Microsoft Xfriends Ultimate Gamer Singapore Tournament promotion will operate. This promotion will be simply referred to as the “Tournament” throughout the rest of these rules.

In these rules, “we” “our” and “us” refer to Microsoft, the promoter of the Tournament as further described in Paragraph 12. “You” and “yourself” refer to an eligible Tournament entrant. “Territory” means Singapore.

The Tournament is a skill-based competition in which eligible entrants (“Players”) compete against other Players on the Xbox Live gaming platform. This Tournament comprises 8 title competitions (“Title Competitions”) and 1 final competition (“Finals”).

You are eligible to enter this Tournament if you meet the following requirements:

• You are a legal resident of the Territory; and ,
• You are 18 years or older at the time of entry. If you are a minor, your parents or guardians have consented to your participation and have also agreed to these rules; and
• You have access to a Microsoft Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system, any of the Eligible Game Titles set out at Paragraph 3, a valid Xbox Live account, a valid Windows Live ID with your Xbox Live gamertag linked and be in good standing on xbox.com, and the Xbox Live service; and
• You are NOT an employee or independent contractor of Microsoft, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies, or a person involved in any part of the administration and execution of this Tournament; and
• You are NOT an immediate family (parent, sibling, spouse, child) or household member of an employee or independent contractor of Microsoft, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies, or a person involved in any part of the administration and execution of this Tournament.

This Tournament is void outside the Territory and wherever else prohibited by law.

Tournament registration starts at 00:01 GMT+8 on 7 September 2012 and ends at 23:59 GMT+8 on 27 November 2012 (“Registration Period”).

The start time for each Title Competition is 00:001 GMT+8 on the relevant Start Date set out in the table below. The end time for each Title Competition is 23:59 GMT+8 on the relevant End Date set out in the table below.

If you wish to participate in the Tournament, you must download the free Tournament Gamer Pic during the Registration Period. There are two ways to download the free Tournament Gamer Pic: (1) by accessing the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the Web using a computer or (2) by accessing the Xbox LIVE Marketplace using an Xbox console connected to the internet.

You MUST participate in the Tournament using the same Xbox Live Gamertag that you registered with. We will use the contact information you provided during registration to send any official Tournament communication. You are responsible for keeping your Xbox Live account information up to date.

You may only compete using a single Gamertag. If you are found to have competed under multiple identities or Gamertags, you will be automatically disqualified from the Tournament and could be disqualified from participating in future Xbox Live competitions.

You can choose to compete in any one or more of the Title Competitions. The Player that accumulates the highest number of Gamer Points for the relevant game title and who attends and competes in the Final wins that Title Competition (“Title Winner”). There will be one Title Winner for each Title Competition. Gamer Points are awarded based on achievements that the Player unlocks in the relevant game title during the Title Competition.

Title Winners must compete in the Finals. If you are unwilling or unable to compete in the Finals, you will not be eligible to win the Title Competition Prize and the next highest ranking player on the leaderboard for the Title Competition will be notified.

Title Winners will compete against each other in the Finals on the date and at an event venue to be notified by Microsoft. Title Winners will need to play all 8 game titles during the Finals. Games shall be played and points will be awarded in accordance with the schedule drawn up by Microsoft. The Title Winner with the most number of points after playing all 8 game titles in all the scheduled matches will win the Finals.

For each game title, the title winners will pick their opponent by drawing lots. The title winners will go through 3 stages on the same game to narrow down to the final winner. Points will be awarded base on their scoring throughout the 3 stages. The participant that tops the 3 stages will be awarded with the highest points.

E.g Final winner will be awarded with 4 points, runner up will be awarded with 3 points, the 2 gamers who made it to the 2nd stage will both be awarded 2 points and the 4 gamers who made it to the 1st stage will be awarded with 1 point each. This system will repeat for all 8 game titles and the participant with the highest score at the end of all the rounds will be the ultimate champion.

Any Player competing in an unsportsmanlike manner or in a manner that is not in compliance with these Official Rules or the xbox.com or Xbox LIVE Terms of Use may be immediately disqualified from this Tournament and may be disqualified from competing in future xbox.com or Xbox LIVE events. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes, but is not limited to, the following violations:

• Swearing or threats
• Spamming or screaming
• Harassment
• Lewdness
• Using any device to create loud sounds
• Any other type of conduct deemed inappropriate

• Cheating of any sort through various means
• Continuous pauses during the gameplay
• Delaying or slowing gameplay using various tactics
• Intentionally disconnecting the network cable
• Intentionally interrupting network connectivity
• Using any type of modified teams
• Using memory cards or saved games
• Any other known or unknown way of tampering with gameplay
• Boosting/Patsy account use for easy wins (playing a friend over and over)
• Team standby cheating
• Using modified Xbox systems

At the conclusion of the Title Competition and the Finals respectively, the highest ranking eligible Player determined based on the criteria set out in Paragraph 5 will be named the winner, subject to verification of his/her eligibility and his/her compliance with all requirements imposed on the winner.

PLEASE NOTE: there may be ineligible Players ranked on the leaderboard.

If you are the potential winner of a Title Competition, you will be notified via email and/or phone. You must respond within 3 days of notification to confirm your acceptance or rejection of the prize; and may be required to sign and return a declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity release within 5 days of date of winner notification. If you are a potential winner and are a minor, and we require that your parent or legal guardian shall be designated as the winner pursuant to Paragraph 8(4) below, we may require that they sign such declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity release.

If you (or your parent or legal guardian, if applicable) are determined to be the winner and you (or your parent or legal guardian, if applicable) (i) do not respond to the winner notification within 3 days, (ii) do not return the declaration of Eligibility/Liability/Publicity release completed and signed within 5 days (if required), or (iii) have failed to comply or are not otherwise in compliance with these Official Rules, you (or your parent/legal guardian, if applicable) will be disqualified and, we may, at our discretion, notify the next highest ranked eligible Player.

Participation Prizes
The first 1,500 Players in each Title Competition to unlock an entry-level achievement that Microsoft will communicate to the Players in writing will win 1 x 1M Live GOLD Subscription (worth USD11.90) and the prizes set out in the table below.

Title Competition Prizes
Title Winners will win a 12M LIVE Gold Subscription (worth USD70.30), a set of the Eligible Game Titles (excluding the game title of the Title Competition won by the Title Champion) (worth USD335) and the prizes as set out in the table below.

Grand Final Prize
The Grand Final Prize is 1 x USD10,000 cash and 1 x Custom Xbox 360 Console (worth USD2,000).

If for any reason the advertised prize is unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

If you are selected as a potential winner in this Tournament:

1. You may not exchange your prize for cash or any other merchandise or services.
2. You may not designate someone else as the winner. If you are unable or unwilling to accept your prize, the prize will be forfeited and we reserve the right to award it to the next highest ranked eligible Player on the leaderboard.
3. If you accept a prize, you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize. Microsoft may choose not to award the prize to you unless you satisfy the applicable tax or reporting obligations under the applicable laws.
4. And if you are a minor, we may require, at our sole discretion, that your parent or legal guardian be designated as the winner and that such parent or legal guardian shall be entitled to the prize and shall consent to be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize.

By entering this Tournament you agree:

1. To abide by these Official Rules;
2. To the extent allowable under applicable law, to release and hold harmless Microsoft, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injury, loss, damage, right, claim or action of any kind arising from or in connection with this Tournament or any prize won;
3. That Microsoft’s decisions will be final and binding on all matters related to this Tournament; and
4. That by accepting a prize, you agree that Microsoft may use your name and place of residence online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Tournament, without payment or compensation.

You may be disqualified if Microsoft, in its discretion, determines that you have cheated or acted in a manner that displays poor sportsmanship.

If someone cheats, or a virus, bug, catastrophic event, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, (also referred to as force majeure) affects the fairness and / or integrity of this Tournament, we reserve the right to cancel, change or suspend this Tournament. This right is reserved whether the event is due to human or technical error. If a solution cannot be found to restore the integrity of the Tournament, we reserve the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Tournament.

Computer “hacking” is unlawful. If you attempt to compromise the integrity or the legitimate operation of this Tournament by hacking or by cheating or committing fraud in ANY way, we may seek damages from you to the fullest extent permitted by law. Further, we may ban you from participating in any of our future Tournament, so please play fairly.

We will post the names of confirmed Title Winners online after 14 days from title challenge end date and the confirmed Grand Winner after 7 days from final event at www.jointhebrawl.com. This list will remain posted until 30th June 2013.

If you are a resident of Hong Kong, India and Singapore, the Promoter is, and you contract with, Microsoft Regional Sales Corporation. The laws of Singapore govern these rules.

If you are a resident of Taiwan, the Promoter is, and you contract with, Microsoft Taiwan Corporation. The laws of Taiwan govern these rules.

If you are a resident of Korea, the Promoter is, and you contract with, Microsoft Korea, Inc. The laws of the Republic of Korea govern these rules.

Microsoft’s Privacy Policy will apply to this Tournament and to all information that we receive from your entry. Please read the Privacy Policy linked below before accepting the Official Rules and submitting your entry. Please note that by accepting the Official Rules you are also accepting the terms of the Privacy Policy. You expressly agree and allow Microsoft to your personal information to such third parties authorized by Microsoft for the purpose of administering this Promotion.
